2022 Legacy Scholarship Recipients

Isabella Chambers

Isabella Chambers is a second-year student from Salida, Colorado. She is studying an interdisciplinary major involving spanish, international development and environmental studies. She is a member of the Davidson Honors College and the Franke Global Leadership Institute. This year, she is also taking on the role of co-president of the International Development Studies Club. Isabella spent 3 months volunteering in Croatia and is planning to study abroad in Spain. She is an avid athlete and enjoys climbing and backpacking to stay active.

Aubrey Frissell 

Aubrey Frissell is an art major from Polson, Montana. He also studies German and is active in the Franke Global Leadership Initiative and the Davidson Honors College. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, biking and brewing kombucha. Aubrey grew up visiting Missoula and exploring the city’s many art galleries and events. He hopes to spend some time living in Germany after graduating and then returning to Missoula to help grow the local art community.

Ann Killen

Ann Killen is a third-year student from Huntley, Montana. She is beginning her first year in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy. She has a strong interest in science and math and is passionate about serving her community. Ann is a Dean’s Leadership Scholar in the Davidson Honor College, a UM advocate and a DHC ambassador. She enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, reading and baking. She hopes to work in a rural Montana community after graduation and develop close relationships with patients in need of care.

Avianna Soto 

Avianna Soto is a media arts major student who plans to graduate in the spring of 2023. She grew up in different cities across Montana but says Missoula is the place that feels most like home. Avianna has served as Secretary of the Latin Latiné Student Union, presented at DiverseU, received two awards in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, showcased her art at UM events and maintained a 4.0 GPA. She also worked as a student employee at UM Online, where she developed a passion for diversity, accessibility, equity and inclusion in online education. She hopes to improve online educational experiences in her future career. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing with her pets, playing video games and planning her upcoming wedding.

Erin Szalda-Petree

Erin Szalda-Petree from Missoula, Montana, is majoring in biology and mathematics. She plans to graduate in winter 2023 and attend graduate school soon after. In her free time, Erin enjoys being a part of the Missoula music scene.

Lauryn Tecca

Lauryn Tecca is from Billings, Montana. She is majoring in History and minoring in Political Science and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Lauryn hopes to continue her studies of marginalized women, especially their interactions with the law in American history. She is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, and active in the History Society and the Davidson Honors College. She also works as a preschool teacher and volunteers with political organizations. In her free time, she enjoys getting outside and enjoying Montana.
