'THE HOUSE THAT ROB BUILT' TO DEBUT

Megan Harrington ’99, M.B.A. ’00, never thought she’d be the one calling the shots to her former coach Rob Selvig ’74. But when it came to directing him in her forthcoming documentary about UM’s legendary Lady Griz program, “The House That Rob Built,” she relished the opportunity.

“Rob was more than a coach to me,” she says. “He was a mentor – a friend. The film honors his pioneering approach to women’s basketball and the impact it had on countless lives. He built a fan base – a community – who packed the ‘house’ and made Dahlberg Arena one of the toughest places to play in the country. It’s a remarkable story, and it happened in Montana!”

Harrington debuted the film last year at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival to sold-out crowds, and a year later the film is being released nationwide by 1091 Pictures, also responsible for the Kevin Durant-produced film “A Kid from Coney Island.”

Picking up accolades from the likes of WNBA star Sheryl Swoopes, NBA All-Star John Stockton and the winningest coach in women’s college basketball history, Tara VanDerveer, the tale of Coach Selvig’s Lady Griz is set to sweep the nation when it arrives on major digital platforms and DVD/Blu-ray on Feb. 23.
