109th Brawl of the Wild

The Grizzlies defeated the Bobcats last weekend in their 109th meeting and finished the regular season with a perfect
record . . . . the 5th time in Griz history.  Congratulations to the Montana Grizzly football team!

Montana received the top seed the Football Championship Subdivision this season and is slated to play South Dakota State this Saturday in Washington-Grizzly Stadium.  Kick-off is tentatively set for 12:05 pm MT.  For TV viewing details, please visit MontanaGrizzlies.com.

All across the United States, from Massachusetts to Alaska, Texas to Florida and several states in between, at over 70 locations – more than 12,000 University of Montana and Montana State alumni and friends gather to watch one of the greatest rivalries in the nation (not to mention, one of the longest running) – The Annual Griz/Cat Football Game or, as it’s affectionately known – The Brawl of the Wild.

We could not continue the tradition of bringing these parties to UM alumni and friends around the country without the assistance of our wonderful volunteers.  They all give their time and energy to assist our office with these gatherings.  So the next time you run into your coordinator, please give them a hearty thank you for volunteering their time and efforts.

Next year’s game is scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2010 and will be played in Missoula.
