Patrick Weasel Head
Patrick Weasel Head, a past director of UM’s Office of American Indian Student Services, is an active volunteer in the community, including service with Meals on Wheels and the Alumni Association. He co-founded the American Indian Alumni Group and is a past Alumni Association board member. He’s assisted UMAA with fundraisers, judging the Homecoming Parade and helps with other Homecoming activities. A strong proponent of educational attainment, Patrick has more than 20 years of educational experience in Indian Country, as well as a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Oregon, a master’s in guidance and counseling and a bachelor’s in business administration from UM – not bad for the first in his family to finish high school.
Thank you: “I would like to thank all of you for this very kind acknowledgement, especially the UM Office of Alumni Relations and Alumni Association. The award acknowledges my ‘extraordinary service to the University,’ but I owe these contributions to the University because of the support many administrators, faculty and staff have given me along the way. I especially owe this to my late parents, George and Dora Weasel Head. It is through their encouragement to give back that I followed their lead. Again, thank you all for this wonderful acknowledgement.”
