The University of Montana maintains a single database of directory information (demographic, academic, personal and statistical) of all alumni relations constituents. This database may include graduates, former students, current students, parents, donors and other entities or individuals. The University of Montana recognizes and authorizes this single database to be managed and maintained by the Alumni Relations Office. With the assistance of affiliated departments and organizations, more than 150,000 records are stored and maintained on this database.
The UM Alumni Database is for official University use only. Use of this information for any other purpose is strictly prohibited without advanced written permission.
Information provided through the "Data Request Form," is for one-time use only. It is not to be used for creation or enhancement of unauthorized departmental databases. This includes, but is not limited to, reproduction and storage in an unauthorized database, photocopying, dissemination, or any additional mailings or business purposes. We ask the recipients of this information to respect its privacy.
A Broadcast Email service is also available using the "Broadcast Email Request Form". For more information on this service, please contact the Alumni Records Manager.
Due to resource limitations, the Alumni Relations Office stores information on individuals only; business lists should be kept by individual departments.
If you are included in the UM Alumni Database and you have updates or questions regarding your file, please contact the Alumni Records Manager.
To request a copy of your diploma or a transcript, please contact the UM Registrar's office (www.umt.edu/registrar) for assistance. To confirm that an individual was awarded a degree, please contact the Graduations department at 406.243.2422 or 406.243.2421. If the degree was awarded before 1990, contact 406.243.4195.
Yes. The Office of Alumni Relations works closely with UM departments to meet these new requirements that took effect on November 23, 2008.
You can visit the USPS website to view additional information on these new requirements.
If your department uses the UM database administered by The Office of Alumni Relations for mailings, click here to download the current NCOA certificate. Your mail processing provider will need this certificate to complete the USPS Certification of Move Update Compliance.
