The University of Montana Alumni Association serves not only current alumni but future alumni as well. One of the ways it does this is by offering the Legacy Scholarship. This award, given to one student annually, is awarded to an individual who represents a continuation of the UM tradition.
To be eligible for this scholarship award, one of the applicant's parents or grandparents must have attended, but need not have graduated from, The University of Montana.
Interested students may download an application online. In addition to basic personal information, the application asks for a current transcript, a resume listing extracurricular activities and an essay addressing the question, "The core values of The University of Montana’s 2020 Vision are leadership, diversity, engagement and sustainability. Pick one of these values and tell us how it will impact your life in 2020. What do you see yourself doing in 2020?"
To be eligible, students must have attained junior status (no less than 60 earned credits) prior to the start of the fall 2012 semester, and be considered a full-time student for the fall 2012 and spring 2013 semesters.
Application Deadline: February 17, 2012 - 5 p.m.
