Alumni and friends from Montana and neighboring states are selected by committee comprised of UM administrators and staff for the Community Service Award for their outstanding service and commitment to their respective communities and to the University itself.
Recipients are invited to a home Grizzly football game where they are guests of President Dennison at a pre-game event and watch the game from his stadium box. Between the first and second quarters, our Community Service Award winners are recognized by UM dignitaries on the field and appear on the Jumbo-Tron for all to see.
2009 Community Service Awards recipients are Sue and John Skees '56, Great Falls (Sept. 5); Donna and Earl Sherron '62, Missoula (Sept. 19); Royal Johnson '49, Billings (Oct. 10), Julie Gemar Williams '77 and Reed Williams, Billings (Oct. 17); Dale Woolhiser '75 and Nancy Thompson, Huson (Oct. 31); and Carol Leggate Gannett '72 and Damon Gannett '69, Great Falls (Nov. 14).
